Jim Casey Entertainment Testimonials

  • We used Jim twice and were delighted both times. Each of my daughters had very different types of Bat Mitzvah parties and the entertainment requirements were varied. Jim did a great job and LISTENED to my child and what she wanted. Two different parties, same great service.

  • "Jim: I didn't call as I knew you were going on vacation immediately following the Bat Mitzvah (on November 12, 2005). I am so pleased with your understanding of our needs. The DJ (YOU!) in this particular case was much more important than up to 50% ...

We needed an environment where the kids could be entertained and the adults could talk and have fun, all at the same time, in the same room. YOU pulled it off! In addition, Alyssa's musical tastes are "unique" and you managed to make it flow. I am so appreciative of your professionalism and the easy, respectful manner in which you interacted with my daughter. She felt as if she mattered and that your cared about her.

To top it off, your games for the kids were cleverly educational and the flashing star of David pins were perfect. I can't rant and rave enough and am looking forward to doing it again Saturday, August 25, 2007. No doubt about it, you made the party."

  • "Jim.... You were superb. Andrea had a great time and you know, when our children are happy we are happy. You kept the children fully engaged and the children were a # 1 priority for us. Thanks for everything.

  • "We contacted Jim last minute to be a DJ for our son's Bar Mitzvah (on May 28, 2005) as the plans with our other DJ weren't working out. He was fabulous from our first conversation ...professional and a great listener.

We had two different needs; a quieter luncheon and a fun, loud, kid's party including games and dancing that evening. Jim was able to do an outstanding job for both! Our friends and family had a great time!

Our son's friends continue to talk about the great time they had and want to plan another party with Jim.

    We would strongly recommend him!"

    Games and Fun

    Hula Worm - 5 to 10 minutes
Everyone stands in a big circle holding hands. There will be up to four hula hoops placed in between people. Jim will then play a fast song. People must move the hula hoops in between them while not breaking hands.

When the music stops, the people that have the hoop around them are out. This continues until there is only one person left.

    Mummy or Present Wrap
Teams of five with one being the mummy or present and the other four being the wrappers/decorators. Three rolls of toilet paper are used to completely cover the mummy or present (except for the shoes)

    Twisted Chairs - 5 to 10 minutes
Basically like music chairs with two twists. Have as many boys or girls sit on chairs in a circle. Then, have one less person going around the circle as people that are sitting. When the music stops, all must find a lap to sit on, the odd person is out, The people sitting now stand up and vice-versa. We remove one chair and continue until we have only one couple that wins!

Freeze Dance - About 5 minutes

Play a fast song and when the music stops, all must freeze.

    Paul Jones - 5 to 10 minutes

Sort of like a snowball dance with a twist.  The boys are in the middle, facing out, in a circle. The girls surround the boys in a circle. One fast song is played to "march" to and the boys go clockwise and the girls go counter clockwise. Jim will then mix in a slow song, whom ever they are facing, they dance with that person for about a quarter or half the song. Then the fast song is played and they do it all over again 3-4 more times.

Pass and Guess - Dinner Hour
During dinner hour, Jim will pass a jar full of M & Ms around the table. Each person must write on a piece of paper their guess and their name. The person who gets the closest wins the jar and M&Ms!

    Human Ring Toss Relay -
It takes teams of five, one person wears a hat with a point on it and is the catcher, the other four are tossers. Each player gets one turn to toss. The first team to toss all four onto their catcher wins.

Balloon Stomp - High Energy about 5-10 minutes
This is a very high energy game. Everybody gets a balloon attached to a string that is tied to their ankle. The object is to pop other peoples balloon's while protecting yours. Also, if the music stops, all must freeze in their position. Jim may then move players around the floor and start the music again.

Balloon Pop - About 5 minutes
Four people per team - Two people blow up the balloons and two people pop them. The two balloons must be popped in between the two poppers who are not allowed to use their hands or feet to pop the balloons. Then onto the next two until all eight are popped. Balloon Football Catch - about 5-10 minutes
Jim will instruct everyone to get into a circle. Then, using 3-4 long balloons, guests pass it them around the circle between their legs and not using their hands. When the music stops, who ever is touching the balloon is out,

Stuff a Shirt - Less than 5 minutes
For this game you need teams of four. 1 person wears the t-shirt and is stuffed while the other 3 blow up balloons and do the stuffing.  The team with the most balloons under the shirt in 5 minutes wins!

Marshmallow Sculpting - About 10 minutes
Each team is given a bag of marshmallows and tooth picks. The object is to make something as a team in a certain amount of time.

Marshmallow Relay - About 5 minutes
This is a team game. Each person has a straw, they need to suck up 1 marshmallow and carry it across the dance floor and put i into a glass and run back and slap the hand of the next person in line. 1st team to get one marshmallow for each player wins.

    Limbo - 2 songs about 7 minutes
We all know how limbo is done. It always seems to be a crowd pleaser and you can have a girl and guy winner.
    .
    Huggy Bear - About 5 - 10 minutes
Everyone is on the dance floor. Play a song and have everyone dance. Yell out a number and the people must get into groups of that number. Anyone not in a group of that number is out.

Coke and Pepsi - About 10 minutes
This is a popular game because everyone old and young can play. Two lines across the dance floor, 1 Coke and 1 Pepsi. When one name is called that side runs to the other side and sits on the knee of their partner. Last people there or that go to the wrong side are out. I will also do variations using phrases like "Mazel Tov" or catch phrases

Walla Balla - About 3 minutes each game
Jim will play high energy music while you put on the Walla Balla and try to make as many baskets  worth 25, 50, and 100 points within 3 minutes.

Scavenger Hunt - Throughout the night
Players come to the dance floor and sit. Jim will call for an object to find.  The players run to find one. The first 5 back get points that accumulate throughout the night 5-4-3-2-1 points apiece. Winner gets a "Grand Prize"

I am happy to incorporate any special requests to help make your vision of the perfect event a reality.
